So, I tried cleaning the walls, tried having a cleaning company come in and use an ozone machine, yet still nothing? Should I paint it, will that remove the smell? Is there any other easier, cheaper ways to do this?
Well, the place is mostly hardwood floors. I've called the tenant and she's going to try putting the vinegar all around, and I'll see how it works on Wednesday evening. Any other advice, or home remedies? Thanks!!
I watch a lot of home shows, in particular for selling houses for top price. They always freshly paint and a carpet steamer to clear out smoke smells.
All of these things like an ozone machine and vinegar and such don't really get to the problem. A good paint will act like a sealer and keep the smells from continuing to leach out from the walls. The other methods only address the smell once it's in the air. A lot of the smoke has been absorbed into the current paint. Makes you think what smoking does to bodies, doesn't it?
